Building Community Through Circle Time |

"What do you mean by 'building community?'"
-Daena "Building Community" really just means that children are in a place where they feel welcome, valued, and included. Whether that means that they are part of a small class or a larger group doesn't really matter as long as they feel as though they are a valued and contributing member.

"There's a boy in my class with a disability. Circle time is really challenging for him. How can I help?"
-Jaime Well, like most things in education you have to adapt to fit the needs of your students. Can you adapt circle time to be at a large table instead of on the floor? Can you make circle time consist of movement and songs instead of sitting still silently? What about standing at the child's height instead of sitting? Think about these adaptations you can make to include this child in every way possible.
