One issue that I often face is getting the children to wash their hand appropriately. They like to just swish with a little water and then run off to play. They don't want to take the time to properly lather and scrub the germs.

Hand washing throughout the day, especially for myself. We do not have a sink in our classroom so we cannot always wash when we should, but use sanitizer instead.

I struggle so much with proper handwashing techniques. Washing my own hands as often as I should is no problem. But when you have 21 toddlers and need to wash hands after playing outside and then before and after all meals and diaper changes, it because overwhelming.

hand washing is hard for everyone but getting the children to wash in the proper order sequence is challenging let alone having them and me stand there for 20seconds. remembering to have them wash at all the different times during the day is challenging when you have so many children.

I think every center has their own rules and regulation and all the stuff have knowledge about food handling. Also we usually have teachers meeting and go through all this main lines to make sure I and all are doing the correct way.
storage food to the correct temperatures, safety prepared, and the most struggle with children is to keep in track the way they wash their hands.
we sing a song that takes about the 20 seconds to make sure they wash their hands correct.

Our center seems to have a hard time with parents bringing in previously cooked food, or wanting to make home cooked goodies for the whole school. We also are trying to monitor hand washing of all the students to the level they need to maintain (20 second scrub with bubbles, etc...) and encouraging parents to implement the practice of washing hands before every meal at home as well.

Parents provide main meals (I provide snacks and milk). Ensuring that parents put their childrens foods in correct type of microwave safe containers (when needed), ensuring ice packs in each lunch box (or moving the items necessary to the fridge if the ice pack is missing or one that doesnt last at least 4-5 hours.
It is getting better, however I am still very watchful of this!!

Hand washing. Not so much how to wash hands, our kids are pretty great at that, but the sheer amount of hand washing that is required. When the kids are dropped off in the morning, whenever we come in from outside, after every time they eat or drink, after every single diaper change, let alone if their hands just get dirty. And then the teacher have to wash their hands about double that amount. It seems like the state just wants us washing our hands all day!

Giving the right balance of food. Since the food pyramid is focusing on healthy carbohydrates it is hard to figure out healthy carbs the children would eat. Sugar in processed food or yogurt/flavored milk/juice is another issue. As these food do have calcium and kids have it at home but the sugar is so high that it is hard to let kids have these foods.

One is hand washing. It is a constant struggle to make sure all the children have washed their hand well during transition like coming in from outside. With vigilance we are always trying to make sure all have washed well. The other challenge to get them eat their lunch in timely fashion. We have 30 to 45 min. Still it is very difficult.
