I was not surprised and I feel like mine were pretty much in line with what the text says. I am surprised that I did not think to put communication. I truly feel that is one of the most important traits of a leader.

I wasn't surprised and feel like my answers were definitely in line with what this training outlined as an effective leader. I do like that it was pointed out that to get respect you have to give respect. I feel like so often leaders automatically assume their "role" entitles them to so much and they don't have to work for respect or reciprocate it.

I feel that my answer lined up with the examples that were given. To be an effective leader you need to be mindful of those things throughout your day. It's important to make sure you are being an example and good communicator to those around you if you expect the same from staff.

I would say mine lined up pretty well, the one thing i left out was the unity in the work place. The work place will run way smoother when everyone is working together and are on the same page.

I felt that my answer aligned up with the characteristics that were laid out. It's important for a leader to be well rounded and approachable that way their team can feel that their intentions are to help to better the team as a whole and not just to feel "powerful" as a leader.

No i am not surprise. if a leader or director has responsibility need to have characteristics of leader because will fix many problems and need to have a very good relationship with all the workers.

None of the characteristics surprised me, however I did miss a huge one, effective communication BOTH written and verbal. the communication part is huge in working with different personalities.

My previous comments lined up pretty well with what was presented, but I did leave out the communication piece. I agree that strong verbal and written communication are important elements in effective leadership. I was not surprised by any aspects of it.

some of mine lined up but surprisingly I realized that it's more about values and intention and less about the power. I try to strive for a balanced leadership in my classroom. My assistant is encouraged to assist in all aspects of the teaching, from planning to execution, from supporting my choices on communicating with parents and children, to sharing new ideas in every aspect. We work as a team and succeed as a team. I want her to feel inspired to follow in my footsteps and strive for leadership in the future.

My answers lined up fairly well with the list. I'm not suprised by anything on the list because every characteristic is valid and is important to have for a well rounded and strong leafer. I value a leader to be apart of the team and not to be the end all say all.

I feel I did pretty well hitting the key componets to what a Leader really is. A valuable leader will always be part of a team and not demanding.
Respect is always key as well.

I totally agree with all of the qualities of a good leader. I thought the Internal/Personality helped me a lot. I am a take-charge personality. I need to soften that part of my influence.

I was not surprised. All four of those characteristics mentioned in the previous slide go hand in hand with what a leader should be. The respect and influence they have on their staff is what ties in with a good workplace community and their effective communication with their community to make them a great leader.

Not surprised but the article was a bit more articulate. Being a leader is not something one can really fake if it is not already internalized, but you can learn. Willingness to learn is part of the process.

These were not surprising to me. This was a well-whittled down list of characteristics. They make sense and are concise. I especially appreciated the inclusion of (a) influence is used for positive purposes, (b) is more about values and intention rather than power and presence, (c) give earned respect, (d) understand the dynamics of the workplace community, (e) is about ethics and ethical treatment, and (f) should be an effective communicator.

1. My answers aligned pretty well, though the previous page was certainly more detailed.

2. It was surprising to me that the page with the necessary information to formulate and answer to previous question was situation after the question was asked. It honestly left me feeling a little tricked, or set up for failure, even though I feel my answer happened to align well with the information provided.
