Helmets on when riding in or on anything with wheels. No climbing up the slide. Wait until the person before you leaves the slide before you go down. Sand and rocks are meant to stay down on the ground- in other words not throwing them. Help our friends, be nice and take turns and use nice words

Some rules that our 2 year olds follow for the playground are: letting one friend go up and down at a time, keep hands off friends when they are walking across balancing type equipment. Sitting in the cars when playing with them instead of pushing them fast where they could run into friends, walking to and from the playground and lining up to check name to faces.

Keep hands and bodies to yourself.
Please throw trash away in garbage bins.
Take turns with all equipment and toys.
Most import rule is to have fun and be encouraging to your peers.

Always be aware of what is in front of you when running or riding trikes or cars. Do not look backward when going forward.
If you need to speak to someone next to you it is not necessary to yell.
Normal volume of speech will get their attention without hitting or pushing.
Wait for lunch or snack when you need to bite something. Do not bite your friends.
It is not always necessary to be FIRST. Share and know your turn will come soon.
If you accidentally run into someone, say you are sorry and give them a hug.

Other rules that we have include only going down the slide and up ladders, and being wary of what is around you at all times.

Making sure that the children are aware of others while at play. When they get excited or see a toy that really want, it seems that being aware, observant and sometimes being safe goes out the door. so I really stress the importance of awareness of not just others but of themselves as well.

We insist that all of the kids that play outside keep the rocks from the play structure area in the designated box to minimize falls and slips. The play structure at our center includes two swings that the children like to twist and spin but that has resulted in pinches and uncontrolled swinging so to minimize this we help each child using the swing set learn how to use the swings by going back and forth on their stomachs or practicing pumping their legs to create momentum. We also make sure there is always a member of staff present in the swinging area any time they are in use.
