We use a lot of these tools and processes everyday both in our science area and in other centers as well.

I would include a microscope with various slides. This allows the children to discover a whole other world that they don't normally see. Lab coat, goggles, and clip board encourages scientific inquiry.

In my Science Center, I typically always have tools for measuring, weighing, etc. What the children are able to measure and weigh and experiment with changes based on the unit we are on. I try to incorporate both natural and man-made objects (counting bears, blocks, rocks, leaves, flowers, etc). I also like to put a water bin for them to use (sometimes for pouring and measuring, other times for sink and float).

Something I'd like to add to my science area is something living. A plant or fish, or even both. It'd teach the kids how things live and what they need to live, as well as responsibility.

It is important for kids to have many different things available in this area so that they are intrigued and able to experiment and explore. It gets them to ask questions and think outside of the box. It opens their minds to so much more. We use science throughout our every day lives and questioning how and why things are the way they are opens children's minds for further learning.

Science should include biology, physics and chemistry. The area should include inanimate objects like marble runs,, magnets, objects for weight and measure, magnifying glasses, microscopes, rulers and sensory bins It should include real life items like plants, fish, bugs, human body materials to study and more. The children should have the ability to learn how scientist study and be allowed to explore and discover.

A science learning center should include, during the year, objects from the world (physical) like rocks, magnets and sand, living objects like leaves, plants, small animals to observe (life science) and tools that encourage using scientific processes like magnifying glasses, tweezers, clipboards and paper for observations, containers for measuring and comparing.

I would like to include the float or sink method. The children can guess first if a coin or a toy block will float or sink before seeing the results. Also making different shapes with spaghetti noodles or toothpicks and marshmallows and gummy bears.

I thought that the cycle of a butterfly would make a good learning center because children see butterflies around spring and summer times. And it would be a good learning experience to be able to teach the children the cycle caterpillars take in becoming beautiful butterflies. Also the float or sink. it lets the children guess whether a item will sink or ship before placing it into the water.

we do a theme each month for science. Some of them include, magnets, sink/float items, sensory table of touch and feel items, examine a birds nest, we get caterpillars and watch them transform, and plant mothers day flowers from seeds.

I do alot of outdoor science. The kids love watching and planting plants. They also like using the weigh machine to weigh fruits from the garden.

Magnets, water, measuring cylinders, measuring cups, wood, a growing plant, shells, rocks, measuring tape, magnets with the parts of the face on, pictures of animals, magnifying glasses, insects in glass, weight/balance scale, paper and something to write with.

I love the idea of pouring and measuring, weather it’s with sand or water. I also enjoy the idea of different kinds of measurements like dumping water on a wheel will make it spin and so on. Creating the wonder of what will happen next and trying to guess.

I like seeing kids explore things so I would put ramps with different textured tops and cars, items to weigh and measure, magnifying glass,nature items,water table or sensory table. The list can go on and on .It is important to listen to the ideas the kids have, like the boy who brings a spider in a jar. Expand on the topic and don't forget notebooks for recording the things they did,

I would include growing plants so the children can see all stages of growth. I would have a light table with colored see through blocks so they would see the different vibrant colors and would explore the opportunities of building.

In my science center I include a variety of science experiences for exploration of our world and processes. I have STEM sets for sink and float, motion, simple machines, and magnets. I have live plants we are growing, a critter jar, and we grow numerous insects at different times of the year. The children can explore with tools, watch growth processes, and learn cause and effect.

Items from nature: stones, leaves, flowers, sand, water, sticks, magnets. Man made items: magnifying glass, telescope, batteries, wires, ribbons, plates, trays. Combining natural items and man made tools there is a high chance for children to make discoveries.

We have a school garden and as part of our science center I would like to utilize the garden to learn about life cycles, get the magnifying glasses out when visiting the garden so they can study the plants and the soil. We can also bring things back from the garden to use a scale for measuring. From watching the video I want to bring in toothpicks and marshmallows to teach 3-D shapes.

I would add pieces of nature that the children pick up from the ground and various textures from different exeriments. We made fluffy paint one day and over the weeekend it turned into something different a soild foam piece.

I would include magnifying glasses, telescopes, scales, rulers, measuring cups, feathers, leaves, and seashells for exploration.
I would Include a mirror with photos of faces and diagrams of facial features.
I would have something growing at all times and be sure that the children can see all of the parts of the plant. • Include a weight and measurement center with varying objects to compare.
I would provide a magnet jar or magnet table for children to explore the properties of magnets.
I would including a water table or sensory bin with objects that sink or float. I would provide materials to build a simple marble run or marble ramp for children to explore the motion of the marbles. By providing all these different elements I am providing any avenues to explore the different areas of science and expand the children's thirst for learning and exploration.

I love the idea of pouring and measuring, weather it’s with sand or water. I think I might add a Storm Glass weather forcasting barometer to the bin. I just have to find one that's more a toy for safety! I like the idea of different kinds of measurements like dumping water on a wheel will make it spin and so on. I have a similar wheel on our sand table.

In my science center we have a balance and different objects to weigh, we also have goggles, measuring tapes, as well as measuring cups. We offer a lot of man made as well as nature objects for them to explore as well. I like to have a variety of items for them to compare.
