PROGRAM PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT (10 Hours) LEVEL 3-4
Documentation Management: Student Portfolio
Before you begin this process it is important to create a system to document each child’s progress. This is called the student portfolio. Here you will put observations, assessments, the criteria used for assessment, children’s work and pictures of what the children do throughout the day.
Document through pictures of the art projects and or other learning activities the children complete. Make sure to put the date and the child’s name on each artifact, as well as the educator who is conducting and or collecting artifacts. You may say “But I’m putting things right in their portfolios.” It’s amazing how the random picture or note shows up on a desk or shelf without knowing who it belongs to. It is more respectful to the child to write this information on the back or bottom of the project.
