The Secret to a Successful Day: Establishing RoutinesMorning Routine |

Arrival time, while usually in the morning, should have a consistent routine for children of all ages. Children should arrive in the same place and the same manner each day. For example, the child should come into the classroom, their things should be put away and they should join their peers in the same type of activity each day.
Many programs begin the day with free play where children can interact with their peers, explore the classroom and settle into their surroundings. After a block of free play time it is usually time for breakfast with ample time being provided for a healthy meal that meets licensing guidelines. After breakfast it will be clean up time and time for the next few blocks of activities. These might include circle time or music with older children, or diapering and reading time for infants. |
