PROGRAM PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT (10 Hours) LEVEL 3-4
What is Relevancy when Creating a Condition?
Relevancy and Supporting: Eating with a Spoon.
This Condition is part of the daily routine, breakfast, snack, lunch, and snack; which makes this objective relevant. Since Eating with a Spoon is the objective you can ask the cook to prepare a food for your classroom in which a spoon can easily be used for each meal for one week. This learning objective has a time frame of one week. It may take longer for some children to become proficient based in their individual development. You can also create a few activities where children can practice using a spoon. This might include stirring activities such as water play and scooping activities such as sand play. This has a secondary benefit of teaching children what is food to eat, and what are materials to play with. For two’s this is an important developmental task (milestone).
