The scientific process consists of 5 components which include observation, hypothesis, investigating or experimenting, analyzing the results, and communicating results. Typically the scientific process involves research, development, and recording among other things. With infants, the scientific process is informal and simple without the steps really being recognized at all. A caregiver or educator should be aware of the scientific process as it happens naturally with infants.
